Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is well known for its big groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them. Besides, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why in this season in Tarangire you can see groups of up to 250 elephants next to many more animals! Spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which become more active as the day cools.

Today after breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch box. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before moving on to Serengeti Safari Lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.

Serengeti National Park is widely known as the place to go on safari, mainly because of the Great Migration that passes through here. The enormous, stampeding herds are impressive, as are the vast amount of predators that live here: over four thousand lions, 225 cheetahs, a thousand leopards, 3500 hyenas, and hundreds of wild dogs! And of course, plenty of other beautiful animals, which your guide will be delighted to search for together with you.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro

Have the half in Serengeti and then after lunch, drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater to overnight at Ngorongoro Safari Lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.

There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

On arrival at Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to Shaba Boutique Hotel for your overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

Breakfast and lunch are provided.

Often called the eighth Natural Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals.

With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People's Palace), Dr Livingston's House and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques.

After lunch, you will be taken by boat to Prison Island to see the turtles and you can enjoy snorkelling. Later after all excursions, you will drive to Nungwi, on the northern side and overnight at Sunset Kendwa Beach Hotel.

Day 7 – Zanzibar Beach

Enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.

The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices which brought the Sultans of Oman. They can be seen in the plantations just outside Zanzibar town, and a good tour includes opportunities to dazzle the senses with fresh spices. The spice tour does not only involve spices but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description of their traditional uses in medicine, cosmetics and cooking.
